And so I felt like I knew some stuff, but my foundations weren't stable, and I had to repeatedly go back and practice old lessons to stabilize it, and then I'd start knowing certain vocab words but only in a specific lesson where I had gotten pretty used to certain sentences, and I was unfortunately memorizing the sentences more than the actual vocab words. I study Vietnamese right now (my COVID lockdown hobby), but I still spend some time on Chinese or Japanese, both of which I have studied more intensely in prior years.Ībout a year ago I felt I was plateauing with Japanese on Duolingo - I had gotten pretty far, but at the time, Duolingo did not have a good way to randomize and mix up the lessons I had learned previously for practice (not sure if it does now). No regrets at all, and I've made a lot of progress after previously plateauing on Duolingo. I bought lifetime Lingodeer about 6 months ago, and love it.
